Vet Clinic Workshop 1
This workshop has been specifically created for Vets and Vet Nurses to help interpret dog and cat body language and unerstand the warning signs that can lead to bites and attacks on clinic staff.
Facilitated by highly regarded Veterinary Behaviour Consultant Dr Tracey Henderson this small-group, interactive workshop covers the following topics:
- Interpreting dog and cat body language and behaviour
- Warning signs of fear, anxiety, and stress (FAS)
- Factors that influence aggressive behaviour
- How dogs and cats interpret human body language and the messages you could be conveying
- Identify and modify stressors that increase staff safety risks
- Safe handling and restraint techniques
- Chemical restraint options
- Communicating with clients to help them understand what their pet is experiencing
- How to avoid bites, attacks, or other personal injury risks

Vet Clinic Workshop 2
This workshop has been specifically created as an additional training for Vets and Vet Nurses to be run in conjunction with Workshop 1 for a full day of training.
Focusing on problem behaviours and mental health disorders in dogs and cats participants will learn:
- How to distinguish the difference between training problems and mental health disorders
- Appropriate diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders
- Review case studies and examples

DR TRACEY HENDERSON
BSC BVMS MANZCVS (Veterinary Behaviour)
Tracey has over 20 years experience as a practicing veterinarian and was the first South Australian to become a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Veterinary Behaviour.
As a consultant to the Adelaide courts on dangerous dog risks, Tracey is the subject matter expert in how the mind of a dog develops and perceives information, is considered one of Australia’s leading animal behaviour veterinarians with more than 10 years focusing entirely on behaviour consultancy.
Tracey currently works as a general practitioner, behaviour consultant, and facilitates training for councils, corporate partners, shelters, and veterinary clinics.
