What Other People are saying about working with us

I have been to a few different animal management courses, and this one was definitely a stand out. Tracey did an awesome job and she is super knowledgeable. I think the team really gained a lot from it. I went home and analysed the hell out of my dogs! Sorcha Gillen – Busselton Ranger Services

What are the most useful things you learnt from our training that will help you in your role?

This was a great way to be introduced to and using different types of equipment before committing to buying things that may not work for our specific needs.

Understanding it’s beneficial to take extra time to de-escalate a situation in order to make it safer to approach an animal.

The different aspects of behaviour and triggers.

Being shown the fundamentals of handling dogs / cats in any time of adverse situations and knowing what warning signs to look for.

What to do when interacting with an aggressive dog.

What to look for when encountering a problematic dog – plus possible solutions.

How will you use your understanding of animal behaviour in the future?

Great tips to give animal owners to help reduce dogs’ anxiety or prevent barking or escaping (sharing tools and reasons is much more proactive than reporting behaviours).

The mental health factors and considerations is something I’ve never really thought about taking into account.

Insights into reading an animals subtle body language as a guide to how they may react.

Take more time to “think like a dog” in order to respond in a way that de-escalates potentially unsafe behaviour.

What did you enjoy about our training/facilitation style?

Really interactive and flexible – I felt confident and comfortable to raise questions / concerns in a group format (which isn’t always the case).

Tracey is an excellent facilitator!

So many great interactive activities (sorting images, wordsearch etc).

The clay was amazing! I have ADHD so it helped me stay focused and tuned in (you clearly know your audience!).

Watching Barry pretending to be a dog!

Great detailed hard copy notes for us to take back and refer to.

Team work – working through case studies and discussing experiences and different approaches.

Detailed videos of many different real life scenarios (in the field, in a shelter, and in a home environment).

Interactive sessions with other participants so we can all learn from each other – this was facilitated and lead really effectively.

I liked the videos that show the human response as well as animal behaviour (especially your examples of mistakes you’ve made!).
